Full to burst.

My fiance and I got tickets for Pudding Club at a local bakery/cafe and I was so excited! Pudding Club consists of a six course meal all of which are.... puddings (I have dreamed of this since I was a small child). I got a little dolled up for the occasion (I grab any excuse these days) and we headed off. We had a pit stop at B&Q to buy some paint for our new house and as both of us had skipped lunch, we decided a small McDonalds wouldn't do us any harm before Pudding Club.... how wrong could we be.

I wore a dusky pink dress with beaded detail designed by Fearne Cotton which was bought off eBay for £20 (rather extravagant for me) and set it off with a black boyfriend blazer (charity shop £4), Black belt (charity shop, £2) and my beloved bowler hat and fake Dr Martens.

The boy wore a kind of 70s inspired outfit with all of it being from eBay or charity shops too... doesn't he look dapper? :)

Our menu. In case the writing is too small, it was: Mont Blanc, Apple Souffle, Citron Crepe Cake, Lavender Creme Brulee, Champagne Jelly and Croquembouche Cupcake. We had to score and comment about each dessert as we went along and the winner was announced at the end while we were given macaroons and whiskey coffee. Amazing.

We decided to start by cleansing our palate with mint tea.
We forgot to take a photo of the Monte Blanc :( But here is the apple souffle which turned out to be more like apple sorbet but still, very enjoyable.
Then the Citron Crepe Cake with mint ice cream and summer fruit compot... both of our favourite and it won the competition as well!
The Laveneder Creme Brulee.... I was starting to flag at this point and couldn't eat a lot of it. It was very nice what I had of it although the top was a little burnt.
The Champagne Jelly was a nice refreshing break but I was still finding it hard to finish anything.
And finally the Croquembouche Cupcake... a cupcake with profiteroles on top drizzled with caramel! Needless to say I could not finish mine at all but was able to take it home in a cute little box.
All the sugar made me feel quite ill towards the end which I think is shown very clearly on my face here.
We were given and coffee and whiskey shot with cream on top. Actually really helped with the overpowering feeling of fullness.
And last but not least, the tower of macaroons! Again, mine was taken home with me :)
A very pleasant evening indeed.
